Still going strong!

30.75% of my goal loss achieved so far. Haven't written in a while, but only because it's been busy. I made it through Las Vegas, made it through Thanksgiving, and keep on chugging along in a much slower, but easier to maintain, trajectory.

Christmas and New Years is of course the next hurdle, but I feel quite buoyed by the success so far. I'll keep you guys posted, thanks for the encouragement.

Good Progress and entering the danger zone

Passed over the 20% mark which is nice. Weight loss, while significant, hasn't been at record pace. At the same time, I'm hoping that I'm making "lifestyle changes" that will stick this time, and dramatic weight losses usually work against that.

Now comes the danger zone though. Starting tonight, I'll be in Las Vegas for 5 days/ 4 nights on a corporate budget with customers. This will NOT be easy. I know I CAN make it work, and I'm determined to be successful. But it will be hard, wish me luck. I won't be able to really weigh myself when I get back, I'll be sure to post a before/after.

Starting Again

First let admit something I've admitted to myself before, this will be a lifelong struggle. This time changing it up a little bit though, I've dropped all meats minus Seafood and Eggs from my diet. Actually been rather successful since the beginning of September. It's not THAT big of a deal for me because I've always loved seafood so much.

Anyway, after being convinced that eating no red meat and poultry was sustainable, I actively started trying to lose weight. First, with no exercise. The reason for that is twofold. First, I wanted to dip my toe in the process again and not burn myself out emotionally early. Second, taking off some of the weight, even 10 pounds, helps my knees in any exercising.

So after about 2.5 weeks, I'm ready to publish my early results, kind of. Still embarrassed how out of hand I let my weight get.... again. So instead of publishing raw numbers, I'm publishing percentage of my desired weight loss. For example, if I wanted to lose 20 lbs, and I had lost 5 lbs so far, I would be at 25%. At 10 lbs, I'd be at 50%, etc. When I reach 100%, I will have lost all the weight I am wanting to lose. So in the graph, up is good! ;-) Current loss, 18%. Which is great, because I want to lose a whole lot more than 20 lbs.

I will post often again to this, wish me luck!

It's been a while

So as most of you know I was on a whirlwind tour of this nation's finest cities, namely Austin, Las Vegas and Orlando. Fine, maybe not the finest but they did all involve shmoozing with customers and eating at some really nice restaurants. My goal was to maintain my weight. The result:

Date Weight Change Change From Start
07/03/08 210.2 lbs -1.4 lbs -62.4 lbs

Yup, I ended up losing another 1.4lbs after all this time. I have 3 goals for the next 5 weeks, two are attainable, one might be a stretch.

1) get under 210 and be in the single digits (easy)
2) get to 202.6 and hit the 70lb mark (doable)
3) get under the 200lb mark and be in the 100's (stretch)

Why 5 weeks? Well, it's when I go to WI on vacation. Still plan on continuing my efforts there, but I would just like to have achieved the milestone if possible.

I did find a weight watchers location in WI near where I will be staying, so I have an extra week to achieve all 3 goals before Adam, Tracy and Charlotte arrive.

Wish me luck!

Holding Steady

Life has been VERY busy. I was in Las Vegas last week, Austin earlier this week, and will be in Orlando all next week. Lot of eating out, taking customers out, etc. Last week I held my weight steady, lost 0.2 lbs. Couldn't weigh in yesterday, and will try to find a place in Orlando next week.

My goal really is to not gain after all this is over. Puts me behind schedule a little bit, but it's really hard to goal for anything else. Wish me luck, how many Ruths Chris dinners can you have without gaining weight?

Quick Update

While the home scale is not exactly the same as the WW scale, it gave me a nice surprise today when it registered 209.6. Even though it's not perfectly accurate, there's no way it would have said that back in January!

Good news heading into this week, I'm interviewing for a new job within the company so I got a lot going on.

Sorry Adam....

but you'll have to wait for that KLC CD. Maybe next time. Here's the info:

Your current weight: 211.8 lbs
Weight change since your last recorded weight: -2.2 lbs
Total weight change to date: -60.8 lbs

Passed that 60 lb mark. Of course I tried my best to save Adam from his album, so I starved the whole day. I ended up buying a mini bundt cake, and that was pretty much my meal for the day. Also had some turkey chili, just so I wouldn't get sick. I'll laugh if I lose weight tomorrow after eating cake tonight! ;-) Next goal is to get under 210. Man that would be sooooooooooo cool.
